:: Imaging Department
McCurtain Memorial Hospital Imaging Department has been upgraded. It is a 24/7 digital department that assists the physicians in diagnosing and treating your illness.

The imaging department provides several specialized procedures, Mammography and MRI. Each of these procedures provides specialized data for your physician, depending on your diagnosis and depending on what the physician is investigating.

We have upgraded our Mammography and perform Tomosynthesis (3d) Mammography and soon will be adding Stereotactic Breast Biopsy. Stereotactic Breast Biopsy is a safe and minimally invasive form of breast biopsy, done as an outpatient. We have a board certified Radiologist to perform the biopsy.

We are able also to perform breast biopsy under ultrasound guidance, this is needed. Our updated ultrasound machine is one of our newer purchases.

With our new CT scanner we can perform routine along with some specialized scans. These included CTA, Bone Mineral Destiny, and calcium scoring. We can flatten out ribs from a chest CT to see if the ribs are broken.

We have upgraded one of our diagnostic x-ray rooms, for routine x-ray procedures. This unit along with the whole department is now totally digital. We have qualified Technicians and Technologists who perform these procedures. The department must meet State and Federal standards through annual inspections and the hospital has a special license to perform Mammography.

Our imaging department has 24/7 Radiology coverage. This means you will always have a highly trained specialist physician interpreting your procedure no matter when it is done.
